Toyota draws auto suppliers
A supplier to Toyota's Blue Springs manufacturing plant announced Friday that it will open a parts facility in Baldwyn next year. Auto Parts Manufacturing Mississippi said it will begin production in fall 2011, the same time Toyota is to begin building Corollas in Blue Springs.....

Delay over for Toyota
Patience seems to have paid off for the north Mississippi counties that have been waiting to learn when Toyota would open its newest U.S. manufacturing plant.Nearly 18 months after putting the plant on hold, Toyota announced the facility in Blue Springs would be operating by fall 2011 and building the Toyota Corolla, the company's second best seller behind the Camry....

Nissan gearing up in Canton
More than 1.5 million passenger vehicles have been built at Nissan's plant since it opened seven years ago.But it's the nearly 7-foot-tall hunks of metal awaiting coats of paint, tires and other parts deep inside the facility that company officials say will help guide the future of the plant...

Madison to get retail boost
Two years after the original announcement, three big-box retailers say they expect to be open in Madison by the holiday shopping season. Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods and Stein Mart are set to open in November adjacent to the Ashley furniture store and Malco movie theater in the Grandview development, developers say....

Ridgeland project gets $1.9M
The third time is the charm for Ridgeland. The city now has Madison County's commitment to pay $1.9 million for the widening of Lake Harbour Drive. On Monday, the Board of Supervisors approved an agreement that says the county will grant the money to Ridgeland "when the project is substantially complete subject to the review and approval of the county engineer."...

4 new stores coming to Renaissance
Renaissance at Colony Park has ongoing construction and plans to add four new stores to the 2-year-old shopping center.Sand Dollar Lifestyles, a clothing and footwear retailer, will open later this month, while Coldwater Creek, Hearron Fine Gifts and Sephora are set to open in early May....

The brand new Craftsmen's Guild is now open across the street from Harbor Walk. The center already has events booked well into next year (bringing tens of thousands of visitors to the area).
