Colony
Park Boulevard plans part of new
interchange work
A road connecting Highland
Colony Parkway to McClellan Drive
in Ridgeland will be part of a
$150 million interchange project
and will give the city a third
east-west corridor to I-55, officials
said. “We’re doing
the engineering and different environmental
stuff right now,” Ward
1 Alderman Ken Heard said. “Colony
Park Boulevard will go all the way from Highland
Colony Parkway to McClellan Drive, which
basically goes to Old Canton Road. That’s
a super east-west corridor.”....

Lake Harbour
Drive extension project waiting
on federal funds
An extension of Lake Harbour
Drive would link the Ridgeland
thoroughfare to Highland Colony
Parkway if federal funding continues
to be allocated for the project,
city officials said. “We
started talking about the possibility
of this flyover bridge roughly six years
ago,” Ward 1 Alderman Ken Heard said. “We
threw this idea to Washington and got some
earmark funding at least for the design.
It would give us another east-west corridor.”....

Harbor Walk Hires
Top Sign Maker
It’s a sign that something exciting
is happening.
When the signs for Harbor Walk go up, they’ll
be unlike anything seen in this area. “I
saw the signs at Newport Harbor and knew
that’s what we wanted for Harbor
Walk,” said John Burwell. “We
had to track down the sign maker–he
wasn’t listed anywhere.”....
